THE BIOLOGY OF NATURAL HORSEMANSHIP
A One Day Event
Presented by
Dr. Bruce Nock, PhD
& Ann Corso, CP
A SYMPOSIUM UNLIKE ANY OTHER
People know far
more about
effective communication and tactful training today than in the past.
But there is no reason to stop there. Come travel further down the road
of enlightened horsemanship to learn how things we do to and with
horses affect their biology and, in turn, their physical and emotional
well-being. It may surprise you but such information has great
practical value—it provides a basis for making reasonable
decisions that we can only guess at otherwise—decisions about
things that go well beyond respect and obedience: It can help us
understand how to ride to maximize the strength and endurance of a
horse while minimizing the potential for damage and injury. It can tell
us how to make horses less anxious and more enjoyable to handle and
ride. It can help us make intelligent decisions about training methods,
hoof care and boarding facilities. It can help us decide when and how
to wean foals and when to start training under saddle. And a whole lot
more. The symposium is jam-packed with
information of value to horse owners of all levels and types, including
those interested in breeding, showing, trail riding and so on. Come
travel a trail with fascinating twists and turns as Bruce and Ann guide
you through advanced topics in natural horsemanship.

About
Bruce & Ann: Bruce
is a tenured
neurobiologist at Washington University School of Medicine with faculty
appointments in the departments of psychiatry, anatomy and
neurobiology. He has been a laboratory scientist since 1973 and has
published nearly 70 articles of original research in leading
international scientific journals on subjects ranging from the
physiology and consequences of stress to learning theory to molecular
drug design. More importantly, Bruce loves animals. Learning about
their behavior and physiology has been a life-long mission. In recent
years, under the auspices of Liberated Horsemanship, Bruce has
dedicated his unique background and expertise to improving horse-human
relationships through riding clinics, written publications, and
educational seminars and symposiums. The “Biology of Natural
Horsemanship Symposium” is a greatly appreciated opportunity
to
convey
information that he firmly believes is of paramount importance to horse
welfare. In addition to his scientific
publications, Bruce is the author of the acclaimed book Ten
Golden Rules of Horse Training and the newly released series
of articles he calls The
Biology of Natural Horsemanship.
Ann is an expert
at describing and explaining complex natural
phenomenon to the general public, with over 25 years of presentation
experience since graduating with a B.S., Ed. from the University

Natural Hoof Care. Over the past 5 years, she has had more than 500
horses under her personal care. Ann is also the Assistant Director of

already helped to train 150+ hoof care professionals. In recognition of
her exceptional skills and knowledge, Ann recently was made an AANHCP
Orientation Clinician, joining Dr. Bruce Nock, PhD; Dr. Neal Valk, DVM;
and AANHCP Co-founder Richard Drewry in that capacity. In addition to
