Ackerman, Gerald (Jerry) W.
Mr. Gerald Ackerman, or Jerry Ackerman, born 1925 of Fair Lawn, New Jersey, was an active member and participant of the New Jersey Bridge Association. He also served as its Vice-President, Auditor, and Chairman of Conduct and Ethics Committee.
Mr. Gerald Ackerman played many bridge games in the early years of the game of bridge. His won the Marcus Cup in 1954 and earned Bronze in 1956. The Marcus Cup was donated by friends in memory of Mr. Edward N. Marcus of Boston, Massachusetts, beginning in the year 1953. The event was conducted as a Board-A-Match Open Team event and was contested at the Summer Nationals. This award replaced the Faber Cup.
