DEFENSE METHOD
TO MULTI 2 DIAMONDS

This method of defense against a 2 Diamonds opening by the opponents, employing the Multi 2 Diamonds convention, was devised by Mr. Danny Kleinman, a bridge expert player, who together with Mr. Eddie Kantar devised the Kantar Kleinman Slam Force.

The Multi 2 Diamonds opening promises:

1. Weak Two Bid in either of the two Major suits

2. or a balanced hand with enormous values

3. or a strong 4-4-4-1 distribution

4. or a strong Two Bid in a Minor suit

and the defense after a Multi 2 Diamond opening devised by Mr. Danny Kleinman follows:

Defense
Double: This is a Takeout of a weak 2 Hearts.
2 : Promises Hearts and a Minor suit.
2 : Promises Spades and a Minor suit.
2 NT: This is a Takeout of a weak 2 Spades.
3 : This bid is natural.
3 : This bid is natural.
3 : This bid is natural and strong with a suit sufficient in length and strength, that it can not be the suit of the opener.
3 : This bid is natural and strong with a suit sufficient in length and strength, that it can not be the suit of the opener.
3 NT: This bid is natural and is generally based on a running Minor suit.
4 : This bid is strong and shows Clubs and Hearts - Leaping Michaels.
4 : This bid is strong and shows Diamonds and Spades - Leaping Michaels.

Using this method of defense, the Delayed Calls show:

Double: This shows a strong balance.
2 : This bid promises both Minor suits.
3 : This bid promises Clubs and a 4-card Major suit in the Major suit, which the opener does not have.
3 : This bid promises Diamonds and a 4-card Major suit in the Major suit, which the opener does not have.
3 : This bid is natural.
3 : This bid is natural.
4 : This bid is strong and shows Clubs and Spades - Leaping Michaels.
4 : This bid is strong and shows Diamonds and Spades - Leaping Michaels.
