Some Kind Words From Fans...

"On speed kills... hearing the songs on this cd certain things come to mind,  actually the lyrics are so descriptive of inner thoughts , feelings,  and wishes that they evoke images in my mind of this person's world , like  a mini film. I could see this character in my mind's eye and can't wait to see what he'll do next.  Poetic, edgy,  hilarious, smart, and completely unique  musical and lyrical writing, vocal delivery, and instrumental performance.  So much so that I find myself being caught by surprise around every corner. Vocal flavor completely expresses what is said... honest and raw texture and I can't wait to hear this jam live. And can't we all relate to "Buyer's Remorse", love it ." Deb Cimadevilla - Miami

"Brick Briscoe's music is like a breath of fresh air when you're "drowning in a sea of retarded sexuality," to steal a quote from Spinal Tap. And in this slick pre-packaged world of modern Pop or Rock music he stands out as a definitive iconoclast ready to point his pen or finger at all who challenge him. Sometimes witty, and sometimes slightly frivolous, but always worthy of your attention. A true artist. Whether in studio or live his sound and style transcends it's confines of space and time. We need more of it!" Steve Goodman - Chicago

Some Thoughts by Cindy Lamb

Mood Machine. (his band) Pillbox Mobile Recorders. (the studio) Speed Kills (the CD) “Still in Dicksville” (the film). Brick Briscoe likes to name things. Like a found mutt, you hold it, you name it, it's yours. Projects do find a way of wandering up to this guy...

To say Briscoe is passionate about his creative process would be selling him and his collaborators short. Taking on the task of painting sound and song with the most electric, deep colors available isn't something that just anyone should try at home but after testing the tides of both Los Angeles and New York City, he found both solace and fire in the soft rolling plains of Indiana. Home.

As the owner of the Pillbox Mobile Recorders, leader of moodmachine, solo artist, film producer, music producer and photographer, this soft-spoken yet hard-driven man still claims to be a fan first and foremost. Days of post-punk vinyl and the emerging indie film wave, CBGB's, Wire, The Beautiful South, Gang of Four, The Jam, Stan Ridgway have left an indelible mark.

After settling into the rural setting, Brick's art became a most curious juxtaposition for the surrounding community. What made the hometown folk tilt their head for a better view, was pure inspiration for this prodigal son. And wife and daughter. And cats. Oh, yeah, and the endless flow of guitars, drumming, moving cameras and delving lens. The neighbors can't quite get the strains of Leonard Cohen tossing the curtains in the studio windows like an alien breeze, but they'll not ask too many questions. Chances are they won't make it to the Penny Lane Coffee House for a Brick Briscoe solo gig or a sweaty, packed moodmachine concert at the Pillbox but that's okay, too. You can go home again... sort of.

In the recent past Brick has produced Denise Dill, Orenda, Bruce Bridges,a moodmachine cd, two solo cds, Namaste, over 20 commercials, a few EPKs for bands, photographed dozens of bands and clients and won 4 golf tournaments. He plays golf just like he plays guitar. Emotional, rough around the edges, for keeps

This coming year will be no different.  Already on the books are a documentary for the South Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church, a new solo cd, more commercials, a potential feature film, a tour of the west coast, Florida and the east coast. But all we ask is see the music live. And buy one or two products for the road, just to make sure you can go over what went down onstage. As cheesy, cynical or intense as it gets with the word-savvy Briscoe and his acoustic or electric performances, you are cautioned to check your tickets for you will have your soul frisked at any portal.

And musical artists, bands…if you find yourself lost, on the mean streets of Anywhere, USA and are seeking a warm place to record and a cool glass of bourbon, Brick's waiting on the porch.

Oh... he's also looking for interesting bands and artists to produce.
