WHAT ELSE AM I DOING?
Once in a while i get to go to "castings" for TV
Commercials, or Corporate Videos, and it's fun and a way to make a little money
on the side, So I figured I'd include one of them here where you can see
me.
Its fun especially when you can get paid a little extra on the side for it! And I learn a lot just by watching the production process.

BABYFACE LIVE!
I had the chance to get free tickets for one of
my favs of all-time, R&B Legend Babyface. He performed some of his new
stuff, but the best part was when he did a medley of the songs that he has
written, stuff from Bobby Brown, to Johnny Gill to Tevin Campbell, to Boyz 2
Men, and then across the way to the ladies from Whitney, to Mary J Blige and
TLC.
Basically all of the songs that are my favorites in R&B. I knew he wrote for a lot of them, but it was cool to find the ones I didn't know.
He left the stage, but he didn't do "When Can I See You", and how could he leave without dropping that one. Well he came back for the encore and made my night. I took my friend Emmy, and we had a great time, makes me wanna go Karaoke VERY SOON! Here are a few pics!

I was flipping around CNET TV and they have a
segment called the "Mailbag" where they air comments people have. Well, looks
like I was one of them!
People actually left a voicemail about me, how rad is that. I embrace the lovers AND the haters, but I do enjoy the haters! I wonder how my mom would feel about this?

YI JIANLIAN is GONNA BE SIC
After watching a few NBA League Pass games, I
gotta say Yi Jianlian is gonna be a hella good player and if the Bucks stick
together with their core they are gonna be top 4 eastern team in two years. They
have the pieces.
I'm always curious to see how these Asian imports play. Yao, is Yao. But then there was awesome bull crap like Wang Zhi Zhi and Menk Bateer.
Yi has a butter stroke, he's fast and athletic and all over the place (averages just under 2 blocks a game). When they compared him to "Dirk" in the draft, you CAN see similarities, but Yi has MUCH better athleticism and speed and a tenacious motor.
He won't be a "solid NBA player", He'll be better. Like a top 25 player in three years. So remember this blog and let's see how far off I am.
He had some pretty crappy first few games, but after that he's been pretty solid 19 and 9 against Houston with McGrady on him most of the time. And his development will be huge for the NBA to keep on raking in the $$$. In his first game against the Rockets and Yao, 200 million people in China watched the game. Holy Crap.
But thank goodness for NBA League pass, the Bucks are worth checking out

BEST THINGS ARE FREE!
Back when I went on my New York trip one of my
co-workers hooked me up with a full on tour of the Mark Ecko headquarters in New
York. I didn;t realize how HUGE the Mark Ecko business was, and they have a
bunch of clothing labels, and other ventures they work together with. Watches,
handbags, video
games...EVERYTHING.
G-Unit Clothing is a Mark Ecko property and 50 Cent, has his own recording studio and work out center on site. Mark Ecko's office can be seen from the top floor and he has a basketball key on the wooden floor in the shape of the rounded Rhino logo.
So the best thing, is that during my tour we got to pick out a watch. I was lucky enough to tour with like 4 guys from the IFL (Fighting league like UFC). I first saw a watch with a Blinged out Skull on the face with a white leather strap that i was feelin', THEN i saw a light shining down on this wooden case, and it was clearly a featured piece. So I did one anyone would do and asked for it. And they said sure.
OPEN SESAME!
It's been over a month and I thought they forgot, but they didn't and this is what I got in the mail. There presentation and the wooden case is high-quality, and then I looked at the pricetag on the watch. $1,000. What a trip. I <3 Mark Ecko.

NE-YO PRIVATE CONCERT!
I got a call from a friend who has a hook-up
through Universal Music for artists that are under they label. They have
basically everyone you can think of and one of my fav artists Ne-Yo was having a
private concert for the CTIA Wireless Show in Frisco. Its basically the big-time
Cellular Phone Convention that happens every
year.
They were showcasing a new technology for concerts where basically you have a text message with an alpha numeric code. You hold your cellphone screen to a readed display, it processes the code and lets you in. Pretty sic.
The show was at Ruby Skye and the performance was HOT! I luv it when artists sound just as good in person as they do on their tracks. The crowd was basically a lot more of the "corporate" type of guy, but there were definitely peeps who knew who Ne-Yo was.

MY NEW TOY!
It's the newest toy to my tech collection. It's
called the "Flip Video Ultra" Its basically about the size of a digital still
camera, but its JUST for video. 60 Mins, 640 x 480 resolution. The audio is
awesome, and its perfect for on the go quick videos, and its better than what a
digital still camera will get you. It has a USB connection that "flips" out.
Plug it in to your computer and it uploads the
video.
$149. Clean design, very Apple-esque and perfect for fun little video blogs. I'm taking this thing with me everywhere I go.

SAN JOSE STATE JOURNALISM SCHOOL's 50th ANNIVERSARY!
Our Journalism school had it's 50th Anniversary
Celebration for the School of Journalism and Mass Communications. I owe a lot to
the people who built this program from the ground up, the teachers and advisor's
that I had. And the friends from the department that I made.They were a huge
part of the puzzle for where I am at
today.
It was great to see the turnout, local news people that you see everyday were there, personalities from national networks, just so much success came from our program. IT was awesome to meet the founders of the program and hear what their dream was for all the people who passed through it. Just incredible stuff.
Sam Donaldson was the guest speaker, which was pretty impressive, but he its definitely a little "OFF" is you ask me, and his hair looked like a mannequin's. He went off telling stories about basically every President of the United States that he covered.

10-YEAR HIGH SCHOOL REUNION
What a trip. That's all you can say about your
10-year High School reunion. Old faces all in one place, it was just surreal
when you walk into a room and see all the faces. It was a great night to catch
up with old friends and I gotta say that our class looked really good overall
and it was fun to shoot the shit.
The night started at Gordon Biersch, then we went to a lounge that we got kicked out of because the husband of someone from our class acted a fool, and pissed off the bartenders..again he WASN'T EVEN IN OUR CLASS!
We then headed over to LOFT in downtown San Jose, and the night ended with some people making out with each other round 2:30ish. But after that people still wanted to kick it so we headed over to Charlie LaVerdi's Cicero's pizza, where he hooked us up. At like 4 in the morning he threw out aprons and we gotta make our own Pizza's and just goof around. It was a good nite that ended at 5 AM.
