HD-DVD vs. BLU-RAY...NERD ALERT!

HIP HOP HOORAY!

Yeah I'm a tech freak, and I got super happy because Paramount and Dreamworks Animation decided to leave the Blu-Ray camp and jump over exclusively to HD-DVD.

So there's a format war, much like Beta vs. VHS, with advantages and disadvantages to both sides (capacity, studio support, interactive features). But in the end two things are gonna dictate the winner in my mind. Cost to the consumer, and the porn industry support.

HD-DVD is cheaper to produce and will continue to be cheaper. And all the porn studios are putting their "support"..."behind" HD-DVD. I own an HD-DVD player, and I'm super happy with it.

What Paramount jumping over means that TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE will be exclusively on HD-DVD along with a crap load of other great titles. I have HD-DVD and I want it to live. But i really want the movies I love to be on it too.

With different movie studios aligned with the different formats, it just hurts us the consumer. To those execs up high, they are just greedy bastards who can't make a single standard because they want to win the "war". They even came together to try to come up with a single standard, but they both walked away. GREEDY BASTARDS.

The Matrix was a catalyst that drew consumers to purchase DVDs and DVD players back in the day. With cheaper prices down the road, maybe Transformers could be the same thing? Who knows, who cares, why am I writing about High Definition DVD wars on my blog, WHAT A LOSER! Obviously I have nothing better to do rite now.
