YOU MADE MY DAY
Compliments go a long long way
I'm gonna toot my own horn..which I rarely do,
but you'll have to read this. There is a lesson in it
all.
I was in Elk Grove (Sacramento
area) for an Apple Vendor Fair, basically we set-up a table and show-off our
latest goodies from Speck so the reps know about them and can sell them. So it
was a pretty interactive, but routine day at the same
time.
We get a chance to walk around
the tables during dead-time and so I stopped by Kensingnton's table that was
about 10 feet across from ours. Two ladies were there, and right away one of
them said, "You know who you look like"..and again..I knew it was coming..."You
look like Usher"...And I responded, "Yeah thats what my friends call me" as I
was smiling because it happens so
often.
But I was taken off-guard
because she followed it up with a, "You are
gorgeous".
WTF! How does anyone respond
to that? I got hella embarassed and said, "Oh Wow!, thanks, that's really
flattering" and my body like curled and I was covering my mouth like a little
kid.
She was hella cute too, but being
the observant person that I am, I noticed the rock on her hand. GAME
OVER!
But lesson of the day, and I do
this to people too. If you see something you like about someone, their hair,
shoes, shirt, ANYTHING. TELL THEM! It's not like your spitting game but
compliments go a long way, and that basically made my month. So make someone's
day/month/year, but guys, DO NOT go up to a girl and tell her she is BONERIFIC!
I've tried and it doesn't work.
