THE NO FROM NBC

The latest...

So I had mentioned that I had some crazy opportunities in the works and I wanted to drop the final details from all of that. Basically I was flown out by NBC to New York for a few interviews. They recently acquired Channel One News (a 10-minute newscast pumped into over 10,000 High schools nationwide, everyday) and were looking for new talent. Interviews and topics range from everything you see on major network news.

I've been in touch with them from all the journalism conventions I attended and the conversation got to the point where they sent me out. I had the opportunity to interview with the Channel One team, the VP of Talent at NBC News and the VP at NBC News. Pretty Crazy.

Ultimately they didn't go with me. But they called me to say, that I had a great interview, I was exactly what they were looking for, but that I didn't fit in with the dynamic of other people they went with. There were other positive details, but I'm not gonna bore you with them.

So yeah I'm bummed, the Channel One News opportunity is dead now, but I was at the point in my mind thinking, wow, what if I just up and left for New York, how crazy would that be? I was ready to do that.

Well the Yay-Area still gets to keep me and I'll keep plugging away. I just started the CNET.com gig and we did some shoots last Friday. That's a fun project and you should probably start seeing some of the work online in another week or so.
