Ooops! ...pointed the flash the wrong way amongst other things! This photo and others were taken on a solo trip into Black Keld using an automatic Olympus Muji Zoom camera and an additional small electronic flash gun operated by a 'slave' unit. The quality of the pictures would have been much better with one or two more people of course. As it was I had to carefully position the camera on a tripod out of the water; set the self timer and 'rush' round in the water, trying not to knock everything over with waves and then hope I was in the correct position to be framed by the camera. I didn't always get it right and it's a miracle anything came out at all! The equipment used is not waterproof and was carried through the sumps in a waterproof box. Fortunately Black Keld is not very muddy, so I only had to contend with wet hands and steam on the lens. |
