We were held up briefly when the water supply to the landowners farmhouse dried up, having run for forty years. There was a suggestion that cavers might be responsible and access be stopped to caves on Great Whernside. Together with the White Rose Caving Club and the well known Yorkshire caver, Harry Long, we offered assistance and advice. In fact it was a percolation spring which seems to have dried up naturally. The farmhouse has now been supplied by a pipe from another source. |
