The middle part of the 'dry' passage to sump 3 is about 3 metres high and 4 metres wide. Despite the floods that sweep through the cave, there are a few short stalactites. At this point the water is about waist deep and quite easy to travel along if not carrying diving cylinders. Every so often there are deep holes in the floor, which can't be seen because of the peaty coloured water. Inevitably we flounder into these when fully laden and this easy passage then becomes quite strenuous. However it does provide warning and amusement to those following! |
