Although I was delighted to come up into airspace shortly after wriggling through the underwater bedding plane , it wasn't clear to me that this was the way on further into the cave. I thought it would still be underwater and that this point was just an airbell. At the time I was more concerned about how difficult the return through the underwater squeeze would be. In the event it was relatively straightforward. Always more easy when you know where you're going! It was only after I returned and Phil Howson went through, that he found the way forward. It was an awkward crawl, which quickly led to bigger 'dry' passage. |
