Mossdale Scar

Mossdale Beck flows to Mossdale Scar and sinks into Mossdale Caverns. It's an atmospheric place. The exploration of Black Keld is an epic story, with great achievements and tragedy. It was first explored in 1941 by members of the British Speleological Association, and later extended by the Bradford Pothole Club, University of Leeds Speleological Association and others. The current explored length stands at just over 10 kilometres. With the exception of one or two places the cave is liable to total flooding.
