Theoretically of course it should be possible to dive in high flow conditions, in fact there are many parts of Black Keld which will never flood to the roof; but this ignores the current which would wash the diver away, especially when trying to negotiate the smaller underwater passages. Also the visibility underwater is quickly reduced to zero. It may be possible to dive in a complicated underwater cave passage, while completely blind and being buffeted and forced into narrow cracks by the force of the water, but it's probably best to imagine it! Remember if trying this in your bath at home, you can't come up for air on a cave dive. |
