Lakeshore Elementary Playground




Emma came over for a play date on Friday afternoon. We decided to take a chance on the rain and headed over to the local elementary school playground for some outdoor fun. After a good romp, the skies opened up and poured on us. We ran home as quickly as we could, but still got soaked.

One of Matthew and Omar's classmates from when they went to Katherine Michiels was playing on the playground with us. She and her friends were very friendly and were curious why Matthew and Omar are brothers, but have such different skin tones. I explained that sometimes brothers and sisters look the same and sometimes they look different -- a somewhat lame explanation that did little to satisfied their curiosity. I'll have to think about a straightforward way to answer that question the next time it comes up. Any ideas?
