Academy of Friends 2006




JC and I were invited to the Academy of Friends party this year. We don't get out often, so it was a great chance to catch up with old friends and meet some new ones.

Thanks to Grandpa Rob and Grandpa Teenie for babysitting Matthew and Omar all afternoon and evening. We had drinks at our friend Bob's house beforehand and then braved torrential rains to gain entrance to the building.

There was an nice variety of food and libations and I particularly liked some of the live body sculpture scattered throughout the building. I think what I enjoyed most was having a chance to watch all of the interesting people.

As I expected, people don't go to this party to watch the Oscars. There were TV monitors liberally scattered throughout the event, but who wants to focus on slow-moving and boring Oscars when there's a party going on?

Thanks Bob and Art for inviting us. We had a blast.
