Back to Church

We recently decided to begin attending church regularly again. It had been a couple of years since we had attended and we thought it would be a good idea for the whole family to get some spiritual nourishment.

I was a little unsure about returning to the Unitarian Church. The church is just getting back on its feet again after losing two of its clergy in what I gather was an unpleasant separation. We thought this would be an ideal time for the boys to be exposed religion by someone other than us. We also have gotten a lot out of the UU services in the past.

The boys' Sunday School Teacher is an interesting man who has a unique approach to religious instruction. I thought his idea of introducing emotions through the work of Frida Kahlo was quite novel. He's out of town for the next couple of weeks, so I volunteered to lead next week's class. We will be talking about the many different types of families that provide loving homes.

Here are some pictures of a lazy Sunday afternoon just after the boys had awoken from their nap. These are times that make you really cherish being a parent.
