TWEAKS
I haven't made any major updates to the site in quite a while, but I have just
tweaked some of the content on lists, screenplays,
links, and
elsewhere.
Take a look!

GIFT GUIDE
The most self-indulgent page on this self-indulgent web site gives my friends
and family ideas guidance on what they can get me for a presents. Clothing sizes,
hints on my likes and dislikes, and links to my favorite stores can be found
here.

SITE MAKEOVER
After several years with the same stark layout for the site, I have created a
new stark layout for the site that you will find fresh and boring all
at the same time.
Expect more tweaks in the near future, as I can never leave well enough alone.

BRENHOW GOES TO THE MOVIES
Years ago, I took advantage of the astonishing capabilities of the Internet
Movie Database to build my own personal database of movies I had seen and
rate each one on a scale of 1 to 10. Recently updated with the films I have seen
in the 21st Century, this
subjective
and
silly
information
is available here for your perusing pleasure.

JUVENILE HUMOR (20 YEARS LATER)
Back in the early '80s, my brother John and our neighborhood friends recorded
an immature parody of the game show Press Your Luck on a portable tape
recorder.
I plopped it on an MP3 file, and here it is for your
listening pleasure.

CALL ME ISHMAEL UPDATES
The official homepage for Call Me Ishmael Recordings has been updated with some
new goodies. Fans of the decade-long series of Ishmael compilations should take
a look.

LISTS
In this age of listmania, many have asked me why I have not used this Web site
to fully document my strong and oh-so-correct opinions about music, movies, and
television.
I expect to
alienate
all
of
my
friends
and
infuriate
casual Web-surfers -- what could be more fun? Check back for future updates with
funny
lists and extensive commentary.

SCANNING MADNESS!
Technology moves so quickly! The scanner I bought five years ago is now sorely
out of date, so I replaced it with an oh-so-affordable Epson scanner that
allowed me to goose the quality of most of the snapshots in my photo section.
I also took the opportunity to add several new pictures. Check
'em out!
10.24.02
MUSIC COLLECTION
I just made a text document detailing all of the CDs, records, and cassettes
in my vast media collection, and now it's online. I can't imagine why you would
want to see this, but here it is anyway.

PHOTO GALLERIES
Thanks to an upgrade of Photoshop, photo CDs and some free time, I am now
able to present extensive galleries of
stuff I have done recently, including a trip to Florida
and a quasi-class reunion I helped organize.

BRENHOW GOES NASHVILLE
One wild night in 1997, I came home to find my roommate (reclusive genius
"The Kid") noodling with his guitar and a four-track recorder. He told me
to "sing something" and I was just pickled enough to sing a country-and-western
version of Def Leppard's Pour Some Sugar On Me. I recently tracked
down a copy of the recording, which I now present
to you as one of those MP3 things.
02.25.01
HOME FRONT
I wrote this story immediately after the Gulf War, and it's bizarre that it
now reads like a period piece. An early version was published in a journal
called Earthwords when I was in college, and almost immediately I became
disenchanted with it. I'm slightly more proud of this revision, which preserves
the imagery I liked and eliminated the unearned drama that ruined the first
draft.

ROLLOVER
Essay or short story? I didn't know what form this one would take until it
was done; ultimately, I decided this twentysomething meditation on how it
felt to be single when the year 1999 became 2000 should be an essay. It might
be a nonfiction story. You decide!

PHOTOS
When I was back in Omaha last week, I ransacked my mom's cupboard of snapshots
for more historic (and hysterical) photos of me and my family. Click here
to see the zany hairstyles.

SQUINTING
A new short story inspired by the charming people I've seen on the sands of
Revere Beach. Thanks to Aimee Welch-Miller for urging me to keep working on
this one.

JUVENILIA BONANZA!
Want to see what a bad writer I used to be? Want to see a poem in the shape
of a lighthouse? Click here to see my cheap imitation of Star Wars
and various works that were published in my high school literary magazine.

RIP TAPIOCA: THE THIRD BOOK
Completists of the world rejoice! The full trilogy is now online for your
delight. This is the final chapter of the Rip Tapioca saga, and the longest
one by a mile. You can learn the shocking secret of Pat Sajak and watch George
of the Gelatin-Brains fall in love with an unlikely member of the fairer sex.

RIP TAPIOCA: THE SECOND BOOK
While the middle installment of my adolescent sci-fi trilogy is still dripping
with amateurish gags and '80s sensibilities, I'm fairly proud of it as a work.
Here's the full text for your delight.

PHOTOS
Are you ready to see some ridiculous pictures of yours truly? I've posted
a number of pictures of me with my friends
and family, and hope to have more in the
future.

RIP TAPIOCA: THE FIRST BOOK
I've just posted the complete text of a foolish sci-fi comedy novella that
I composed in study hall when I was a high school student. Expect to find
gobs of '80s nostalgia that seemed really topical when I was writing it.

I must be really bored, because you can now access this dopey personal homepage
using the simple domain name www.brenhow.com.
Hardcore typists may continue using the old URL.
