Tuesdays with Julee
My week-end has morphed into I don't even know
what to think anymore. Sure there's still happy hour on Friday night, but that
has changed in certain respects, too. Friday night we added a MCC wrestling
match and dinner at the station with our friends and their in-laws. Melissa
called during the match and found out that her dad had been a h.s./college
wrestler. We weren't really keeping it a secret. Or for that matter the table
tennis either, Tony! So anyway back to the morphed week-ends. After a quick
Sunday dinner celebration for the Adame's 25th wedding anniversary, we get
caught up with Tony...not sure which he prefers more...our company or the
hotel's accommodations. So then Monday, I head off to what is "suppose" to be a
busy week at work, I dust off the crock pot and predict mashed potatoes will be
Jennifer's drug of choice for dinner. Ben and Annie come just in time to
entertain Tony and check out my premiere building in what will eventually
become Harvey Street Village. Wonder how interested they'd all be if it was
"just" an office building. But fortunately they B.Y.O.A. and entertainment.
The movie "Millions" could easily inch it's way into my top 10. I need Ben to
hold us accountable with what comes in our door from Blockbuster, Mark.
Christmas With The Cranks could actually be the worst movie I've ever seen and I
only held out for about 12 minutes. So then Monday feels like Saturday and
Tuesday feels like Sun. (except for the rounds of dr. visits and errands which
actually feels like Friday) it calms down somewhat with just Jen and Tony
whinning about it ending. Except Melissa and Jen have Verizon to Verizon free
minutes so we actually get to talk quite a bit with her even though it's a
week-day. Say a prayer for her friend Eric (Pepe) tonight, his mom is losing
her battle with cancer and it just doesn't seem fair. Sometimes, more than
others Melissa seems absolutely too far away. And so I'm reminded, once again,
as my so-called week-end comes to a close...life is short, there's really no
excuse to not live life to it's fullest everyday. Live, laugh, lean, learn, and
love, and not just on the week-end.
C'mon country music, save yourselves tonight. Looking forward to the
reviews.
