| Use the new Mac Slides Publisher
The Mac Slides Publisher uses your images and a .Mac account to Creating Slide Shows : To create a slide show, you must first select the pictures to be included in the slide show. These images can come from iPhoto or from a folder. After you have selected the images to make up the slide show, you then drag the images (all at once - see below) to the Mac Slide Publisher icon (pictured right). The Mac Slide Publisher utility will then optimize the images for use as a screen saver and then publish the slides to your Pictures Folder on your iDisk. Once completed, the Publisher prompts you to 'Announce your Slide Show' by setting up an email that you can send to your friends and family (see image below). I created a 58 image Slideshow and it took 6.9 MB of space on my iDisk. This is something to consider, especially since the end user may have a slow internet connection, making the download of this screensaver time consuming.
drag the images from iPhoto or a folder on to the Mac Slides Publisher Utility
Notify people of your slideshow by clicking the Announce Slideshow button Accessing Slide Shows : To access a .Mac members slideshow you must To set the slide show, go to the System Preferences, and click on Screen Effects (this has replaced the Screen Saver Menu). You will then click on .Mac Screen Effect (image right). Next, click on configure. Clicking on Configure will bring up the subscription menu (image below). Here you will put in the .Mac Users name (bradhopkins for example).
type in a .Mac member name to access their slideshow Adjust Slideshow Setting : Once you have put in the Members name, whose slide show you would like to access, you can then adjust the slide show display options to your liking (cross-fade, zoom, crop, etc). You can also change the order of the slide shows by dragging the name of the slide show up or down in the list. Once you are done personalizing the settings, click OK and you are done. I created and posted a slide show of pictures that I took in Glacier National Park in Montana. To access my slideshow, follow the instructions above, inserting my username (bradhopkins). I have encountered some problems with the 58 image slide show, so I cut it down to 10 images (1.2 MB). 08/25 |
