Remove Files From Your iDisk Backup Folder

I have had a couple of questions about removing files from your iDisk Backup folder. As you may have read (or found out) you cannot delete files from your iDisk backup folder. That folder is Read Only (you can look, but you can't touch). Here are the steps to removing the files in question:

  1. Open your Backup application. Click on the Back up drop-down menu and select Restore from iDisk. Backup will then connect to your iDisk and give you a list of all the items backed up on your iDisk.
  2. Select the item that you would like removed from your iDisk by putting a check next to it. In the image above I have selected Excel Files in Home Folder. If you would like to select individual files (example below - I only want to remove one of the pictures from the files on my desktop), you would click on the information button (i) and then select the individual file by putting a check next to it.
  3. Finally, remove the items from the iDisk by clicking on the Remove items from iDisk button (a minus sign). If you are removing entire Quickpick selections (ex - all files on desktop) click on the remove button (minus sign) in the main window. If you are removing selected files, click on the remove button in the information window. (I had some trouble getting this to work - I had to push very low on the button, at the very bottom actually.)
