| Monongalia County Technical Education Center Policies and Procedures
Parking: There is plenty of parking. After 3:30 p.m. we have open parking, you can park in any designated parking space. We have ample parking in the back of the building with additional parking spaces at South Middle School. Please leave disabled parking open for those with permits. Do not park in fire lanes, in front of fire hydrants, against the building or on the grass and do not block the front disabled ramp. Individuals not following parking rules will be asked to move their vehicle to a proper space or it will be towed. It is very important that parking rules be followed in case of an emergency. Fire lane must be open at all times. Use of Tobacco Products: The use of tobacco products on any school campus in West Virginia is strictly prohibited. If you smoke or use other tobacco products you must leave campus when doing so. This is a difficult rule to enforce and your assistance in enforcing this law is greatly appreciated. Individuals using tobacco products in any form on this campus can be expelled from class/es as well as fined in magistrate court. Attendance: As an adult and since you have paid for your class, attendance is your responsibility. Best policy; be in class as much as possible. Individuals taking a class for credit, attendance will be part of your grade. If you need to be absent and can let your instructor know ahead of time, please do so. If you need to miss a class due to illness, etc., call the office at 291-9243 after 1:00 p.m. and leave a message for your instructor. Food/Drinks: Please notice the building, it was built in 1978 and looks pretty good for its age and usage. We try our best to provide you with a clean and comfortable educational facility. Food and beverages are not allowed in classroom or labs. For your convenience a student lounge is located in the front lobby with vending machines. We appreciate your assistance in this matter. Adult Learning Center: Should you need educational assistance in your class or know of adults that need assistance in getting a high school diploma, our Adult Learning Center in room 170 is available at no cost. Our dedicated staff will assist you as much as possible Cell Phones/Pagers/etc.: As a courtesy to your instructor as well as the adults taking classes, we request that all cell phones, pagers and emergency alert devices be turned off when in class.
