Ma belle France.  Je l'adore.

Boy, did I ever speak French, and they actually spoke back, in French!  After two days of Loft Story, my comprehensive improved dramatically and I was able to converse freely in French without any problems.  Thank you M6.

Part of the France trip was dedicated to seeing churches.  Jonathan and I rented a car and, despite feeble first moments driving the streets of Paris and being asked, "Where do you think you are, Toulouse," set out across France's autoroutes, national routes, and country routes.  Our tour included Gothic, Romanesque, Cistercian, and one modern church.  While I discussed the differences between the first three, Jonathan gave me a perspective on an amazing building named Notre Dame du Haut.  Again, thank you Jonathan for getting me somewhere I probably would never have gone.

Paris was a week to just bum around and take in the city.  From cute room in Les Halles,  I struck out (when I wasn't deathly ill) into the French capital.   I am more than happy to report that my time in Paris was well spent.  I learned a lot of slang, spoke about theatre and music, saw Ionesco plays onstage, and discussed philosophy of country and person.  With bruises on the top of my head from the low rafters in my hotel room, I made friends in Paris I hope I'll see again one day soon.

Yes, I did take a picture of the toilet in my hotel room in Paris.  I was very sick in reality and we got to know each other (as well as the Lofters) very well.
