Return of the King
I took my dad to
see Return of the
King Tuesday night. He enjoyed it, and mentioned
something regarding it the next day, which I took as a good sign. I still think
it's a great movie, but did not like it more the second time than the first,
unlike the first two movies.

Return of the King
I went to the midnight showing
of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of
the King this morning. I'd say I liked it better
on first viewing than the first two movies. The other two movies improved
greatly for me on subsequent viewings so I'm interested to see how much more I
end up liking RotK by the end.
Peter
Jackson did an excellent job. There's only one scene I would have liked to have
scene, and I'm fairly confident it will be in the extended
version.
Definitely highly
recommended.

Repo Man
Alex, John, Philip, and I
watched Repo
Man. What a strange movie, but fun to watch
once.

Return of the King
Wednesday night, Bryan and I picked up tickets for
gretchin and ourselves for the midnight showing
of Return of the
King at Century 16. I'm really looking forward
to the movie, I think it'll be great.

More Two Towers
I watched the second part of the design and cast
commentaries for The Two
Towers. The design commentary picked up in part
2, but the cast commentary was just as forgettable.

Two Towers
Yesterday I watched the director's commentary and the
production and post-production commentary
for The Two
Towers. I also watched the cast and design team
commentaries for Part 1. I liked the production and post-production commentary
better than that of The Fellowship of the
Ring, but the other three weren't as interesting
this time around.

The Two Towers
I watched the extended versions
of The Fellowship of the
Ring and
The Two Towers last night with Bill, Philip, and
Kristina. The extended version of The Two
Towers is significantly better than the
theatrical release. It's a great movie (where the theatrical release is not). It
resolved everything I had a problem with in the theatrical version and more.
It's amazing how much 43 minutes more material is. When the movie began it felt
like it was all at the beginning, and the same with the ending, yet there was
plenty of new scenes throughout. This is a movie that can hold its own
with The Fellowship of the
Ring.

The Two Towers
I finished up all the documentary-like extras
on The Two
Towers last night. Now I have to go through the
gallery slideshows. I hope to do that tonight.

The Two Towers and Brotherhood of the Wolf
I got my The Two
Towers extended version DVDs yesterday. I
watched some of the extras off of disc 3 and 4 last night and this morning. Good
stuff. They had a featurette on the major changes they made in the story, and
why.
I went over to Joe's last night and
we watched The Brotherhood of the
Wolf, one of my favorite movies. He enjoyed it
quite a bit.

Raiders and Bugs Bunny
Last night, Bill and I
watched Raiders of the Lost
Ark and some Bugs Bunny cartoons.
The
Raiders DVD is beautifully remastered, both
picture and sound. And Bugs Bunny is brilliant, as always.

The Matrix Revolutions
I just saw The
Matrix Revolutions. I liked it. I felt the
trilogy got weaker as it went along, so I liked it the least of the three. I
didn't find any of the fights terribly thrilling
(Reloaded
was best for that), but I liked that the loose ends were tied up and I liked the
solution to the war. Not a movie I'll go to a theater to see again, but I will
buy the DVD. I'd recommend seeing it, but don't expect the first
movie.

Indiana Jones
I watched all the bonus material
on The Adventures of Indiana
Jones boxed set. It was about 3 hours worth of
documentaries. There wasn't anything spectacular about them, but I learned a few
interesting things. Such as, the submarine used
in Raiders
was the submarine that was built for Das
Boot, they just rented it.

The Matrix Reloaded
I finally got my copy
of The Matrix
Reloaded from Amazon. I watched all of the
extras last night. They were only somewhat interesting, except for the one about
the car chase scene, which was quite good. I was surprised that there is no
commentary on the disc. Overall, there's not much special extra on the disc,
just the movie. It's not worth packing on two discs, I think.
