Peter Gabriel
I ripped all my Peter Gabriel CDs yesterday morning. I
found I'm missing one, a soundtrack PG did a few years back. It's been added to
my Amazon wish list.

More Ripping
I ripped some more today: Led Zeppelin, Angelo
Badalamenti, Mark Snow. I'm now at 206 "albums" (which includes singles, and
single songs on discrete discs), this comes to 2,308 songs, which is 6.7 days of
music. Tomorrow night: Peter Gabriel and Heart, I think.

Ripping
I ripped all of my Cocteau Twins and Dead Can Dance
albums. I think I'm going to rip quite a few more, I've got lots of space left
on my hard disk, so why not? I'm going to try to rip all albums of any
significance.

Tales of a Librarian
I bought a copy
of Tales of a
Librarian by Tori Amos. It's her greatest hits
album, with 2 new songs, and all the older songs reworked. I purchased it from
the iTunes Music
Store because there were two exclusive tracks. I like it, and some of
the songs seem a fair bit different in arrangement from the
originals.

Lovecraftian music
I picked up two CDs at the H.P. Lovecraft Film
Festival, A Scary
Solstice
and Shoggoth on the
Roof, both from the H.P. Lovecraft
Historical Society. I've listened to the first one, which contains 25
Lovecraftian versions of Christmas carols and it's hilarious. I haven't listened
to SotR yet, but you can guess what it's based on. High
recommended.

Dido Redux
I'm listening to
Life for Rent right now via iTunes. It turns out
that this is one of those discs with the special security codes on it which
makes it unplayable on Macs. I don't see any reason to buy crippled discs, so I
bought the album (minus one song) on iTunes for $9.90. I'd normally prefer to
own it on CD, but I don't want to support crippling discs. The first song on the
disc is great.

Dido
Dido finally has a new album
out, Life for
Rent. I'm listening to the 30 second snippets of
each song on the iTunes Music Store and it sounds promising. I need to hit a
music store soon to pick up a copy of the album.
