Proposed SmartCode Community Plans (new zoning) for City of Gulfport

The City of Gulfport has had community plans prepared with public input for the areas around original Gulfport ("Old Gulfport Community Planning Area," including the downtown) and for the area around Mississippi City ("Mississippi City Community Planning Area" running roughly from the VA Hospital to Anniston Avenue and north toward Pass Road). You can download all of the documents associated with these proposed plans here.

You may also view a hard copy of both plans at Gulfport City Hall, at the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center in Mississippi City, or at the Harrison County Library Branch at Orange Grove.

Old Gulfport Community Plan

The Old Gulfport Community Plan comprises a text document and a set of six regulatory maps and two maps (the "Feature Identification Maps") used to identify features regulated by the text of the plan. The maps are ledger-sized (8-1/2 X 11 inches). You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader version 8.0 or later to properly view the documents. Right-click on the links below and save to download:

Note that the city has not yet approved any Community Plans &mdash meaning that there are currently no maps. Community Planning workshops are planned starting in a few weeks.
