"Knossos Games" is a puzzle column in Imagine magazine, published by the Center for Talented Youth (CTY) at Johns Hopkins University. This web site is the repository of all Knossos Games puzzles printed in the magazine, along with solutions, comments about the puzzles, and a few other tidbits. Enjoy!

Argh matey! Check out the newest type of word puzzle, boggling stories. Just find the words in the grid of letters to finish the story.

If you’re a returning visitor to Knossos Games, check out the new homepage. This is the first step of the site’s next redesign (hence the 6.0 alpha designation), so keep your eyes peeled for more changes!

The newest addition to Knossos Games: fish ladder puzzles. Using the pieces available, build the “steps” in the ladder so the fish can traverse the height barrier.

 

 

Tips for navigating the site:

The puzzles here range from simple, straightforward mazes to complicated, rule-based puzzles. I've found puzzle-worthy topics from gardening to cellular biology to reality television. If you don't find something interesting and the right difficulty for you right away, keep looking - there are 22 categories of puzzles, and the list keeps growing!

Not every puzzle belongs to a group (to be included in the category listing) and not every puzzle that appears on the web site has been published (to be included in the publication listing). Browse around both listings to see everything, or check out the web site index.
