With summer at an end, I needed to get back home to Arizona. But what was I to do with Gromit? All the shipping methods I explored were frightfully expensive. In the end, he just tagged along behind our car. As you would expect, we got a lot of strange looks. I never weighed Gromit as towed, but my estimates were that the 101 ended up weighing perhaps a shade less than the loaded Saab.

I avoided panic braking, sudden changes of direction and driving in the rain, and everything went fine. The Saab had plenty of power to tow Gromit easily at 70MPH. Gromit is now home safely in Jerome, Arizona. Stop in and see us if you're in the area.
