Ding Dong the Witch is Dead ... or at least she has moved! Now the poor folks in Fort Worth Texas will need
to gear up to keep from becoming the next victim of her wicked ways
Melody Johnson, who in my opinion deserves the award as one of the worst superintendents ever to hold the position is leaving Providence RI and heading to Fort Worth Texas (and a $300,000 a year job. How many music teachers could this salary fund!) That is GREAT NEWS for the city of Providence, whose once legendary music education programs have been single handedly destroyed by ax wielding Johnson. Reasoning just never worked with her. Everyone knew the only way to make progress restoring the music programs in Providence would be to run her out of town. Leaving of her own volition is the next best thing. So, Providence has a new opportunity to right the wrongs of the past two superintendents (Diana Lam was no picnic either... of course she went to NYC and then was let go for paying her hubby on the side with school funds!) To the good people of Providence... Here is your moment. To the good people of Fort Worth Texas, consider this your fair warning. To Ms. Johnson... do not let the door hit you on your way out! PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- The superintendent of the Providence school district has been named as the final pick for the same position in Fort Worth, Texas. The Fort Worth Independent School District named Melody Johnson as its pick today. It's the third largest district in Texas, with 80-thousand students. Johnson is in her third year as head of the district in Providence, which is about a third of the size of the Fort Worth district. The job in Fort Worth pays 300-thousand dollars -- a lot more than the 169-thousand dollars she makes in Providence. The money's not the only draw for Johnson. She calls Texas her home -- and she got her P-h-D at the University of Texas at Austin. Related Rant Posted: Sat - March 5, 2005 at 08:25 AM Email Feedback |
