My Personal Learning Environment

Here are the multiple ways in which you can interact with me online.  This is my PLE! This document is called a PLE Inventory. Please join me in a shared learning journey using any of these means:

My Empire State e-mail is robert.clougherty@esc.edu
My secondary e-mail address is bobclougherty@mac.com
My secure e-mail is rjc@clougherty.net
Please note that I do have assistants who occasionally screen e-mail for me in all acounts except the last (clougherty.net); if a matter is extremely confidential, please use that address.

Virtual Office:
When I am in my office, or logged on while out of town, you can find me in my virtual office.  To connect, you will need JavaWebStart which can be downloaded for free at: http://www.elluminate.com/support/softwaredownload.jsp

Once JavaWebStart has been installed, simply click on this link:

My Blog:
You can find my, usually not up to date, blog at:

43 Things:
I am, of course, also on 43 Things. I think that this is one of the best designed sites currently on the web.

My Buddy Map:

Secure e-mail:

Electronic portfolio:
I am an admin on Ionfolio.  If you are a TTU user, you can create your account by going to http://ionfolio.tntech.edu the system is LDAP’ed so log in with the username and password you would use in a university PC Lab.

Moodle:
I do keep course materials available on the Web Design program’s moodle server—it allows self registration, to set up an account, go to http://webdesign.tntech.edu/moodle

Personal Page:
My grossly outdated, but I swear I’m going to get caught up page is at: http://iweb.tntech.edu/rclougherty

WebCT:
If you are a TTU student taking a course with me, you can access course materials at http://webct.tntech.edu

External Info:

You can see my consulting page at:
http://www.clougherty.net

I am also involved in Landscapes for Learning, whose site can be accessed at:
http://www.landscapes4learning.com/

Tools for Students:

Need an html editor? Personally, I use the Macromedia (hard to say Adobe) Suite. If you are a student and cannot afford that, check out NVU! NVU is both excellent and Free, so it fits a student budget.

Want to begin podcasting? Try Audacity. It can be downloaded from http://audacity.sourceforge.com

Growth:
The beauty of PLE’s is that they continuously grow.  If you’d like to be placed on an update list, please feel free to let me know.
