Possibly My Best Idea EVERBasically, I'm going to give a book to someone
and it'll be his/her job to read it and give it to someone
else.
...I've setup a buzznet gallery that people will be able to post their own photos of the book in their location without my help.... If they send me their email address I'll keep them updated as to the whereabouts of the book. I'll also have people put their names in the inside cover so that we'll get to see how many people it's been to. I'm going to try and get the thing rolling tomorrow by trying to get it to someone performing with Laura Cantrell (even better would be to give it directly to her) at McCabe's Guitar Shop. I'm starting a traveling
book.
Basically, I'm going to give a book to someone and it'll be his/her job to read it and give it to someone else. Ideally, not someone local to them, this way it'll travel longer distances much faster. I've setup a buzznet gallery that people will be able to post their own photos of the book in their location without my help. I've set up a gmail account for email regarding this experiment. If they send me their email address I'll keep them updated as to the whereabouts of the book. They're heading out to Europe later this month and it would be a great start for this project if it gets overseas right away. I'm hoping that I can get this book back after a few years, but I'm not counting on it. I'm just looking to spread a little literary joy across the globe. Oh, the book? Flatland by Edwin A. Abbott. Written in 1884. If you haven't read it yet, go do it. It's a fun book at only 82 pages long. Posted: Fri - July 8, 2005 at 07:58 PM | | | | |
