Odd Man Out



Friday I had a very weird customer. Everything he was selecting seemed like an impulse buy. Sod, grass seed, ground cover, flowers, vegetables, herb seed, flower seed, vines, shrubs, soil, etc. By the time I'd finished there were 66 items totaling over $250. When it comes time to pay he writes a check, but has no ID. I see a WaMu check card and I figure if he knows the PIN I'd be satisfied. He says the card is inactivated. I can also see a B of A card in there too. Now who carries check cards that they don't use and at the same time forget their ID?

I've had just an odd feeling about him the whole time. Just the questions he was asking...they weren't the right questions

So he said, "I live like 2 minutes away. I'll get my ID and be right back." He didn't come back.
