I just finished a top to bottom listening of
Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. I've had the songs in regular rotation, but not
in order and all at once in a long
time.
It was great before and it's gotten better.
I remember when I picked it up. The Border's in Long Beach on the release day. I heard an NPR story about it on the way down there and I'd heard rumblings about it because of all the troubles they'd gone through to get it released. I decided to pick it up while I was there.
If you don't have it you should get it. It might take you a few listens to "get it" but if you put the time and effort (yes music listening takes effort) into it you'll be sad that you went nearly 5 years having not heard it before.
Read some reviews, and then go pick up your copy. I'd recommend a physical copy so you can get the lyrics too.
I've got to go sit in silence for a while now.
