Sat - November 8, 2008Do Me A Favor?In case you haven't heard, I'm heading to
Washington D.C. during the Inauguration in January. I've put in a request to my
congressman for a ticket, but I thought I'd hedge a few bets and get all you
readers of mine to put your own requests in, and should you be lucky enough to
receive tickets...well, maybe you'd give me
one.
I'd be ever so grateful. Posted at 10:46 AM | | | Sat - July 28, 2007That Explains It AllThis is the headline I just saw on CNN, "Cheney
having surgery to replace battery."
Posted at 08:11 AM | | | Sun - July 22, 2007Huh?I keep hearing from many Republicans that
government can't do anything right. Then why do they want to be a part of
it?
Do you really want to entrust the power of government to people that think that it can't do anything right? Posted at 11:06 PM | | | Sat - July 21, 2007President CheneyIt feels bad to think about, but deep down I feel this is
how it's been from the
start.
I just wonder if he'll give the power up since Cheney's decided that he's a new branch of government all himself. Posted at 06:55 AM | | | Wed - July 11, 2007I Can't Believe It's RealIt reads like a bit on The Daily Show, but it really happened.
I don't think they could have written it
better.
From your new White House Press Room. Q What, do you think I'm going to ask a
question?
THE PRESIDENT: Yes, I did think you were going to
ask me a question, yes. (Laughter.)
Q I am. (Laughter.)
THE PRESIDENT: Well, maybe some other
time.
Q Oh, but do you think you open --
THE PRESIDENT: See what I'm saying?
(Laughter.)
Q You can't come to the press room, especially a
modern press room --
THE PRESIDENT: Wait a minute, let's do this -- let
me cut the ribbon, and --
Q You think anything has changed?
THE PRESIDENT: Let me cut the ribbon -- are you
going to cut it with me, Steve -- and then why don't you all yell
simultaneously? (Laughter.) Like, really loudly. (Laughter.) And that way you
might get noticed.
Q It doesn't sound like you're going to answer
--
THE PRESIDENT: No, I will. I'll, like, listen
--
Q And leave?
THE PRESIDENT: -- internalize, play like I'm going
to answer the question, and then smile at you and just say, gosh -- (laughter)
-- thanks, thanks for such a solid, sound question.
Here we go, ready? I'm going to cut the ribbon.
(Laughter.) Then you yell. I cogitate -- and then smile and wave.
(Laughter.)
Are you going to come, Laura? Here we
go.
(The President and Mrs. Bush cut the ribbon.)
(Applause.)
Q -- (inaudible) --
THE PRESIDENT: Brilliant question.
Q -- (inaudible) -- cogitating that,
right?
THE PRESIDENT: Thank you all. See you
soon.
Q We look forward to seeing you come and do a little
--
THE PRESIDENT: I will see you soon, thank
you.
Q Y'all come back. (Laughter.)
Posted at 07:12 PM | | | Thu - July 5, 2007Mon - July 2, 2007Surprise!Bush commuted Scooter's sentence. What a
shocker. I was figuring on a full pardon.
Posted at 11:40 PM | | | Sun - June 24, 2007Best LineI saw SiCKO tonight. Best line in my opinion was
from the Englishman that describe how and why they went to the system they have.
Something to the effect of , "If you can have the money to kill people (in
regard to waging war) you can have the money to help people." If you think
about all the money going into that missile defense shield (I think they're
still building it right?) you certainly have a good start for health
care.
Posted at 07:33 PM | | | Tue - May 1, 2007Wed - March 7, 2007Taking Bets NowJust when is (notice I don't say if) Scooter
Libby's presidential pardon going to
happen?
My bet is the last day of Bush's term. Your thoughts? Posted at 11:12 PM | | | Sun - March 4, 2007Tue - February 13, 2007Mon - February 5, 2007To Interest To Some Of YouJust to be safe I'm not naming any names. Click the
link and watch if you want.
About 40 minutes long if you watch both clips. I spent most of my evening watching clips from this page. This was my fav. Posted at 09:28 PM | | | Fri - January 26, 2007Mon - January 15, 2007Fri - January 5, 2007Sat - December 30, 2006Trials Are GoodBush is saying that Saddam had a fair trial. And
that is good thing. Anyone want to guess as to why we're not giving trials to
all those people in Guantanamo? And I prefer trials without secret evidence and
not restricting counsel's access to the
accused.
I thought fair trials were important for justice. As always, Glenn Greenwald says it better. Posted at 09:07 PM | | | Sat - November 25, 2006Net At RiskA good episode all about the Internet, big media and
you!
Oh yeah, the reporter performed at my brother's wedding. Too bad it's not in QuickTime. :( Posted at 08:34 PM | | | Sat - November 11, 2006Truth?So a week before the election W had a press
conference and pretty much said that Rumy would have his job for the next 2
years.
Then the day after the election Rumy gets the axe and W says that no matter which way the election went Gates was getting the job. I don't understand why the press isn't more upset about this. They asked a question, they got lied to. Why should they (or anyone for that matter) believe anything that comes out of this administration? Posted at 10:52 PM | | | Wed - November 8, 2006From ColbertIn reference to the Democrats winning so many
seats. "Woo hoo! The people have spoken. And apparently they're tired of
freedom. Don't get me wrong I'm not angry I'm just disappointed. I thought
this country would last longer than 230
years."
He also had a cake congratulating the terrorists on their victory. Funny stuff. Posted at 01:00 AM | | | Tue - November 7, 2006Election DayGo vote
today.
I say choose Democrat, but whatever you think is right. I'm hoping for a change in Congress, but I'm not holding my breath Posted at 07:45 AM | | | Sun - November 5, 2006Happy Guy Fawkes Day!401 years
ago.
What a fun holiday...celebrating someone's thwarted plan to blow up parliament and their eventual torture and death. Posted at 07:14 AM | | | Sat - November 4, 2006What I Heard TuesdayI forgot to mention
this.
A work Doug likes to listen to the KFI radio stream. Personally I can't stand it. Sometimes it's interesting to heard the crazy stuff they get so angry at, but mostly it just irritates me. Anyway, this was the day of John Kerry's speech blunder. And Rush Limbaugh spent a lot of time on that. He also kept going back to the Michael J. Fox thing going on as well. On how there were focus groups being polled to see who had the more favorable rating. Fox or Limbaugh. Rush seemed amused that people would spend so much time on people that were even on the ballot. And this is the same show that he's going on and on about the Kerry speech. And you know who also isn't on the ballot? That's right, John Kerry. And of course, when Dr. Laura came on she started off by saying she would spend a tiny micro (might have been nano) second on the Kerry speech. That tiny second went on for about 5 minutes. Good old Krazy KFI AM radio. Go ask Ms. Dewey what she thinks of KFI. Posted at 11:49 PM | | | Sat - October 21, 2006 |
