It's For Your Own Protection
With all the recent debate lately about the
separation of church and state it's interesting to look back at history and see
how generations before looked at the issue and how they dealt with
it.
Some religious groups want to make Christianity the national religion. There's a danger in doing that. Once it's the national religion, you don't get to control it anymore.
The church/state keeping away from each other is for the good of the people as well as the good of the church.
