Born in Albany, NY, on 23 May 1975, I grew up in an old house overlooking Shady Harbor
Marina in the upper Hudson Valley. I received
my undergraduate degree in 1997 from Wesleyan University (CT),
where I met my future wife and
realized I wanted to spend my time in this mortal coil studying and teaching Classics.
I recently completed my Ph.D. in Classical Philology at Brown
University. According to Quizilla, I am a "grammar god" - it looks as though I chose the correct profession.

Hobbies and Other Interests
Recent addition: Maggie, an 8-year old Chinook. She's now the star of the thrilling motion picture, "Maggie and the Blizzard of '05".
An unhealthy amount of my "leisure" time is consumed by following the New York Yankees. Living in New England and being engaged to a Red Sox fan has pushed my fandom to the brink of madness. For anyone else similarly
afflicted, I suggest the Red Sox to Yankess Fan Conversion Form (obviously a pre-2004 form, but I'm confident the natural order of the universe will be re-established in short order).
Whenever I have the chance, I partake in my first hobby: sailing. Back in the
day, large swaths of each summer were spent sailing on the Hudson
River on the family boat.
I've also been known to while away the occasional hour at ice-skating and archery.

Avert your gaze, me in all my "glory"
studying for my doctoral exams in my backyard
in Providence during the summer of 2002. I am sporting a Robinson's Racing Pigs hat, a spoil from my years of service as web designer, security guard, and admission
gates supervisor at the Altamont Fair.
