Very cool Easter celebration

The Orthodox world celebrates Easter at a later date than the rest of us, but the Greek island of Chios has a very unusual tradition as part of their celebrations. The parishioners of two churches fire handmade rockets at the opposing church, with the goal of hitting the church bell towers. The services and Easter vigils continue uninterrupted as the rocket barrage goes on. There's a video of the tradition here. Watch it. The rockets are fired by the tens of thousands through the night, and it is a wild, beautiful and somewhat frightening scene.
