Everyone always forgets about "Brand New Lover"


Trivia: when Epic released Brand New Lover in the UK, they underestimated the demand for the single (it was the first off of the "Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know" album.)

I always get into some Dead or Alive marathons where I'll listen to their stuff day in and day out. They are my all-time favorite band. Most people only ever seem to recall "You Spin Me Round" but there were so many other hits. I've been listening to Brand New Lover quite a bit lately.

I remember when I was in high school and finding the Brand New Lover 12" single at Salzer's record store in Ventura, CA. I almost creamed my pants because back then, release dates of singles, etc. weren't readily available to the public. Anyway, the original "Dust Monkey's Love Bubble Club Mix " was and still is a masterpiece. It's available on iTunes (click on the link).

Trivia: when Epic released Brand New Lover in the UK, they underestimated the demand for the single (it was the first off of the "Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know" album.) And also misprinted the record labels, leaving not enough singles available for purchase when demand was at it's highest - therefore, the single had a disappointing chart history. In the US, it did much better.
