Awesome AGE OF CHANCE web site

After the One Thousand Years of Trouble album, the lead singer, Steven E, left and the group sort of changed direction.

One of my favorite bands from the late 80s was Age of Chance. The first incarnation of the band was very hard edged - lot's of guitars, loud vocals and banging beats. The first song I heard from them was a hard cover of Prince's "Kiss." I bought that single and was hooked not only on the music but the visual style of the band represented in the video and on the sleeve artwork. I bought the Crush Collision EP which had 6 really hard songs on it including "Kiss" and a cover of "Disco Inferno" - which was really inspired.

Soon, the One Thousand Years of Trouble album came out. WOW! The songs were great: "We Got Trouble", "Don't Get Mad... Get Even!", "Shut Up & Listen!", "Who's Afraid Of The Big Bad Noise?", and "Take It!" I got the 12" singles for "We Got Trouble", "Who's Afraid Of The Big Bad Noise?" and "Take It!" All are incredible. And the album artwork, again WOW!

After the One Thousand Years of Trouble album, the lead singer, Steven E, left and the group sort of changed direction. They got a new lead signer and produced an album of perfectly fine pop songs. Interesting sound, but I wish they had just changed the name of the group. For me, when the album Mecca was released, Age of Chance ceased to exist. It wasn't the same.

Check out this website though. Very nice. Lot's of samples, video clips (some I had never seen before!!!) and a great history and background section.
