New(er) Games: We Love Katamari + Legend of Kay

In Katamari Demacy, if you failed, you had to exit out back to the select screen and then reenter the stage - a process which could take a minute or more.

We Love Katamari simply rocks. I had high hopes for this title after playing the incredible Katamari Demacy last year. It seems like this time around they just put in more of the same, but tweaked things for the better. For example, there are a couple of levels where you have to achieve a certain goal. In Katamari Demacy, if you failed, you had to exit out back to the select screen and then reenter the stage - a process which could take a minute or more. In We Love Katamari, if you fail, a Try again message appears allowing you to instantly replay the stage. New modes like racing and fire are cool enough. The final stage is incredible, where you get to roll the Katamari all around the world. I got to over 2500m - I'll have to try to get it even bigger.

The menu/interface at first put me off, but now I love it. Some of the larger levels have load times as the Katamari grows - which is odd, but the presentation makes up for it.

It's definitely a must buy. If you haven't played the original, get both. It's so satisfying to roll up animals, people and eventually buildings.
