Happy St. Patrick's Day (Almost)

NEW YORK, NY - In anticipation of Thursday's holiday, I wish everybody a happy and safe St. Patrick's Day.

My week of recuperation in New York continues. There won't be any debauchery for me tomorrow. I've woken up every day since being home with stuffed sinuses and a throat coated with gunk. I had been blaming it on the cumulative fatigue of the last two months, but I just remembered that, when I moved to New York in August 2001, I suffered through the same early morning predicament for three weeks after my arrival. It must be the air here.

With a backlog of photos at my disposal, I'm happy to share today two signs I saw with Katie at Underwood Elementary School, which is in the southwest corner of Iowa:






Once again, something to make you ponder how much easier life would be if we remembered the things we learned as schoolchildren.
