Funeral Record-(on file at the Concordia, Kansas Public Library) Amanda Celeste is written Celeste Amanda in some records. She was sometimes called "Mandy" or "Maud". She was in Ames, Cloud County, Kansas in 1910 1910 Census-Cloud County, Shirley Twp.-Amanda Age 72-Widow Amanda Celeste (Newberry) Reid collected postcards. Annette (Strange) Carroll has copies of many that were sent to her about 1908-1910. One of these postcards was addressed to: "Mrs. L.W. Reid, Ames, Kansas, Easter 1909.... To Sister Maudy from Brother, James Newberry, Batavia, Iowa" (Jefferson County, Iowa.) On the Funeral Record for Amanda Reid, her son William was to be charged for the services. The date of the funeral was June 22, she died at Ames, Kansas, the services were held at the home with Rev. Allen presiding. Cause of death was paralysis. Bible Record-Hugh T.
