Hibernia Hughes to Susan Miller 26 Sep 1833: "I received a letter from Sister Martha not long since. She sends her love to you. She says she is looking for me every day if you were here and would go with me. I believe I would go down. "

Hibernia Hughes to Sarah Miller 14 Feb 1835: "I received a letter from Sister Martha not long since. She has another daughter about two months old that she calls Sarah Octavia. She talks of coming up in the Spring, but she has so many children now that I don't know how she will manage. "

Zilpah McGinty to Susan Miller 15 Dec 1838: ". I received a letter a few days since from Sister Martha. Her family are all well at this time but they have lost another one of their Children this fall and there has been more sickness in that Country this year than has been since they have been there all put together. ...Martha sends her love to our relations in Pontotoc. We are looking for her up in the Spring."

Zilpah McGinty to Susan Miller 3 Mar 1839:"Mr. Clifton was up the first of February. His family were well. He brought his oldest son up to Oakland College. Martha expects to be up in April. If you come down with Uncle John, you will see her. Martha is still expecting him as soon as the weather gets good. "

Zilpah McGinty to Susan Miller, 17 Jul 1844:"Mr. Clifton and his oldest daughter is to be up this month and will bring Ella home, as they have no teacher since Miss Taylor died. Then I will be more confined at home than I have heen, and Oh but I would !ike to visit you all and stay awhile in that county of flowers. If the straw flower will come from the seed, please when you write again send me some seed in your letter."
