Zilpah McGinty to Susan Miller, 17 Jul 1844:"Well I must stop short. Mother sends her love to your father and mother. Uncle John and Aunt Jane Cousin Andrew and Cousin Sarah and all. She says she wants very much to see them all once more if it could be so, but is affraid she will not. Tell Uncle Ebenezer she says she thinks he might let you and Margaret come to see her again. Cousin Robert or Langdon could come with you. Do come. Do remember me to both Uncles and Aunts, to Cousin Andrew and Cousin Sarah, and all the rest of the cousins every one. There is too many to name each one."
Zilpah McGinty to Susan Miller, 7 May 1848: "There has my dear Cousin a great many sad events taken place since you and I met. It seems almost incredible to tell how many deaths have taken place in our family. When you were here there were eight brothers and sisters now there is but three remaining and feel sometimes that Mother will out live us all every one. She has a better constitution than any of us and her health has remarkably well for the last six months. "
"Mississippi Cemetery and Bible Records," v. 3, p. 63 states that Margaret born 1770, death date as shown, age 84. buried at Old Hominy Ridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 2 miles southwest of Fayette.
Jefferson County Mississippi Cemeteries, Etc. Vol. 1, p. 194 shows death date as 18 Aug 1853. Location of Harmony Ridge Presbyterian Church: located on the right side of the Geoghegan Road about one-half mile from the Hwy 61 intersection. It is in a wooded area about 500 yards from the road. It is in poor condition and some stones are broken. There are sunken areas indicating other burials. |
