Misc. Notes
Jean Pickens was the fourth child of Andrew Pickens and Nancy Davis. According to Sharpe, she was born circa 1740, which would make her about eighteen at the time of her marriage to Robert Miller in early 1758. She was still alive at the time of the 1790 census and was listed as a head of household, with one male over 16, two males under 16 and two other females. She is not listed in the 1800 census; however, her son Ebenezer's household consisted of two males 16-26 (probably Ebenezer and Joseph, with John Henry possibly in school) and one female over 45, who was probably Jean Pickens Miller. Andrew Miller and his family were seperately listed in the 1800 Abbeville Census. Robert, Ann and Margaret were all in Mississippi by 1800.
Ebenezer's family in 1820 also included a female over 45 years old, who could have been his mother, Jean Pickens Miller. At least one source (Nix and Snell, Thomas Boone Pickens, His Ancestors, p.53) states Jean Pickens Miller died in 1824, although there is no backup source for this statement. Her son Robert Miller addressed a letter to her as late as 25 Dec 1801.
