Thank you to our dear friends who crafted this knight's armor for Sir George. I don't know where they found their materials...
So please forgive me for yesterday's blah blah blah. It's out of my system and now I feel like I can really start a clean slate today and a new year.
I forgot to mention while I was pouting yesterday that Will and I are dropping the boys off at my parents' in Florida and flying out west for the BCS National Championship football game! My dad surprised Will and me with the trip for Christmas/birthdays and we are so excited because our Gators are playing! We fly into Vegas and are going to drive down to Phoenix for the game. I've never been to Vegas! or Arizona! I cannot wait. I joked to my friend Gracie that I really get to have the fantasy weekend of 90 percent of American males--strippers, gambling, and football all in one weekend! But I can't wait. I love an adventure. And how sad is it that one of the things I am looking most forward to is the long flight from Orlando to Vegas! Time to nap and read and just sit! If Daddy is reading this he is thinking I am crazy! But don't worry, Daddy, nothing is going to surpass the feeling of seeing my Gators beat some Buckeye ass! I am really excited and so is Will. What a break from our daily existence here--something completely different.
This morning at the breakfast table I was reading Sports Illustrated--I always tease Will he has no idea how good he has it--and the boys wanted to see the pictures of the football players and there was a picture of the Gators coach. I told James he would be a good coach when he grows up and he said, "No! I'm NOT going to be a coach. I'm going to be a big man!"
"Okay," I said.
"I'm going to be a peacot!" Georgie yelled and raised his arms up.
I said, "Well, peacocks don't talk, George."
"I'm going to be a peacot!" he said again. "I'm going to be a peacot!"
"I'm going to be a fireman!" James said.
"I'm going to be a lion!" John said.
"I'm going to be a giant!" James said. Then we all made the noise James makes when he wakes up in the morning, "AAAAANNNNNNNNHHHHHHH!" And it was scary.
"I'm going to be a zebra!" George said.
So it was a good morning! And lest you worry I am raising a bunch of sports-crazed knuckleheads and party animals, keep in mind the other night we read one of John's favorite books, "Polite as a Princess." And at the end I had to fudge a little with the last line: "A princess is a polite young lady. Don't you want to be just like a princess?"--er prince?
They are excited about the trip. I feel guilty leaving them with my parents and sister for so many days when their behavior is so up and down, but I think I'm getting over it!
Have a wonderful weekend. I am taking a little notebook Will's mom gave me for Christmas so I can jot down some notes of our trip. I can't wait to report back and hopefully I will have renewed energy and spirit!
And if anyone needs some armor for a big party weekend I might be able to hook you up...
