Our big news is...WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!!! We are still in the inspection stage, but we are scheduled to close July 31st. Less than a month! So let me add to my regular litany of excuses for not writing being crazy busy trying to get our house ready to sell. I love the new house. It has a long driveway for tricycles, a big yard for kicking balls, trees for climbing, a pond for catching tadpoles, and a deck for late-afternoon cocktails for Momoe and Daddy. Each boy gets his own bedroom. It's funny the different responses I get to this point. Some people tsk tsk about it as if we are spoiling them rotten. They don't need their own bedroom. They can share like we used to share. Other people say, oh that's so good. They'll have their own space, their own identity. I say, they'll be able to take naps without jumping on each other's beds and pulling down the curtains and without me having to give up my room. Right now they sleep fine at night but I have to put up playpens in our room and the guest room to separate them for naps. Anyway, I asked Georgie what he would put in his own room that was no one else's. He said, "Georgie's bed," and I said, "That's good. What else?" "And John's bed and James-o's bed!" Awwww. Well, it would be sweet if George hadn't bitten a chunk out of John's back today. George wants his room to be "lello" of course, James wants white, and John wants brown. I wonder how it will be that first night...I have a feeling all the boys will be camped out in one room. And that's perfectly fine.
So we are super-excited but we have got to sell this house. That means getting rid of all the crap we don't want to pack and then packing and also getting the house looking like three boys don't live in it so we can show it. It's been a wonderful house for us and I really love it. We're getting it so clean and the yard so nice it makes me wonder why we didn't always go to so much trouble! But the answer there is that we are collapsing in exhaustion every night, we hardly have time to talk to each other except to run down to-do lists, and in our stress we are the prodigal sons returning to the open arms of ice cream, pizza, and French fries. So I wouldn't say I like being busy all the time as we have been lately, but I've been having fun. It's all in the name of good things. The new house, my exciting work with Arbonne, it's all worth it and I'm a happier person for it all. In other good news, our friend Jessica is back from Peru!!! We had a great Fourth of July despite the heat. My house is purged of more clutter every day. My niece is the cutest little thing on the planet. I've been doing a little writing and some reading. Life is good! My friend Susan called tonight. As my therapist said today of these latest developments, "Life is sweet!" Cheers to that. I will try to be a better blogger, but as you can tell I am being pushed to my limits right now. Please keep checking! Thank you for reading! |
