I literally just had to drop what I was doing and come write this before I forgot it. The boys favorite new toy lately has been calculators. James calls them "pocketlators" and John calls them "calendars." Anyway, we have some major eggheads on our hands OR it's just a matter of time before they figure out there's something called video games that has more than black numbers on the screen! Anyway, I was getting dressed and John was crouched over his calculator crunching numbers. "What are you adding up, John?" I asked. "How much cakes and food and wines." "You're going to have a party?" "Yep." Does this mean he may be our party planner or that I'm buying way too much cakes and foods and wines? Lest his masculinity be challenged by the more prehistoric of our readers, don't worry. Last night John announced, " I have three cockses!" Will and I were astounded and worried ourselves until we realized he had three "Crocs" in his arms--the plastic shoes they like to wear...
Have a great weekend. Ours is sure to be an adventure as always. The boys have been really good the last couple of days. Wild, but happy. John said something silly this morning at breakfast and I said something back and he laughed and said, "I'm just teasing you, Momoe." As long as we all have a sense of humor everything will go well. I started reading a book yesterday by a women who's written 18 books but didn't write her first one until she was forty. She writes that at the time she was raising her three boys she sometimes got frustrated and sometimes felt like her talents were being wasted, but that she would not have the happiness she now has if she hadn't spent that time raising her children. Her message, "Rejoice and wait." I think I will post that over my computer! A nurse at the doctor's office told me yesterday to enjoy these days that in hindsight they go by so fast. I know it's a cliche' and all the older ladies say it, but something about the sadness in her voice and the way I could tell a part of her envied my situation as a mother of three young wild boys made me listen. So I will REJOICE today. I probably also should be very good to John because three night ago he told me he was Jesus... |
