Bernna Berkowitz's Viewpoint on Checking IDs Coming into the Clubhouse

February 3, 2006

For once I must agree with what the Master Board is doing. Checking ID cards at the clubhouse is not an invasion of privacy or rights. The clubhouse is for the use of residents. If you are not a resident, you should not be allowed if not accompanied by a resident. People come through the front gate because they are on someone's guest list and then proceed to use our clubhouse and pool even though they are not with the resident. This cost you money.

What the Board needs to do is come up with a GUEST POLICY. They need to put a guest policy in place before they start charging Baywinds organizations that are for the residents for use of the clubhouse. Other HOA's have guest policies, why doesn't Baywinds?

Why with a board of 11 people can't they seem to get moving on important issues? Is it because they are also busy dealing with the problems of their own associations? Working at two "jobs" has to be difficult and time consuming even for the most dedicated.
