Howard Horowitz's Opinion on Resident Behaviors

June 21, 2005

Last night I attended the Baywinds Community Meeting. At that time, my friend retired NY Supreme Court Justice Ira J. Raab, who is also our neighbor, attempted to speak. Before Ira could get any thoughts out, he was roundly booed by some members of the audience and not allowed to speak by the Chair of the meeting. This was disgraceful and uncalled for treatment by both the audience and the Chair.

Ira deserves and should get a public apology from the Chair of this meeting and our Board for the rude way in which he was treated.

Over the years, we as Americans have fought for the right to freely express our thoughts. It is obvious from the actions of some in the audience and, more particularly from the Chair of this meeting, that our rights have been relegated to the lakes of Baywinds.
